The Winery

AMASSIA TOWN – 1936

In 1936 the Thomaidis family acquired their first vineyards in the Pozar area. The first variety it cultivates is a wild variety found on trees. It is named “Amassi” from the homonymous city Amassia in the Pontus region, where the ancestors of the family come from.

VINEYARDS

Some years later, other international varieties such as Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc and the Greek Xinomavro are planted and cultivated.

The family’s philosophy focuses on the production of quality wine and spirits that bear the stamp of the microclimate of the Piperia area and highlight its uniqueness.
