Vassilis Marinos is a graduate of the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.In 1989 he started his postgraduate studies at the University of Adelaide, Australia, studying with his PhD thesis the “Application of mass spectroscopy by ionization with mobile atoms in the analysis of aromatic precursors in must and wine”. In 1991 he became a member of the Australian Society for Viticulture and Oenology and in this capacity he participated in various oenological and tasting seminars. He was head of the research department of the Society ‘I. Boutaris & Son Oenology’ until 1996 when he became a founding member of AMPELONIKIS.
